Sunglow Acres is the home to Ron Neth, Elaine Peterson, 7 - give or take a few - horses and 2 cats - one rides too!   We are located on the south side of Sheldon, Iowa; easily accessed by two major highways, 60 & 18. With Sunglow Acres being close to town, our mares and babies provide wonderful entertainment for the town folk.  Our facility consists of:

  • 70 x 120 barn

  • Insulated heated stalls, screened for summer

  • monitored birthing stall

  • Indoor riding arena

  • outdoor riding arena

  • 2 large  grass pastures for mares and colts

  • 2 separate turnouts with shelter

  • additional barn with 4 stalls                                     

Over the years, Sunglow Acres has earned a reputation for breeding and training quality APHA horses for  the serious horse show competitor . Since 2001, our first year of showing APHA,  we have successfully shown  Western Pleasure and Hunt Seat horses, taking two horses to 3 superior awards. To complete our equine program, we are proud to be standing our two time Superior Western Pleasure stallion...

Sunglow Acres would like to thank Karina & Melvin VanMeter of  Snowyriver Paints, located in Weldona Co., for their friendship  and support the past  few years.   As a result  of their  trust, we were able to bring Clearly Zippin home with us in 2003.  God bless you, Karina & Melvin! Keep those nice babies coming!!

Ron, dba Ron Neth Trucking, is the "driving" force behind Sunglow Acres.  As an Owner/Operator, Ron's dedication to his company, has earned him respect in the trucking industry.  For 20+ years, he and his Pete, have traveled the highways to New York City.
